Dolph Ziggler ? 7-31-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Why did the WWE choose Dolph Ziggler to face Dean Ambrose at the SummerSlam ppv this year ? He’s been stuck in the upper mid-card for several years now. Sure he’s had a few halfway decent runs as a midcard champion over the last few years, but nothing truly memorable.

Were they going for the ultimate shock ? They sure accomplished that. It looked like they were either prepping for a 3 way match with AJ Styles and John Cena, or a singles match with Bray Wyatt. I highly doubt anyone truly thought Dolph would be the one challenging for the title at SummerSlam.

When is the last time Dolph had a world title match ? The last time he held a world title he lost it to Del Rio at the Payback ppv in June of 2013, which would be over 3 years ago. I can’t recall a time he’s even challenged for a world title since. Three years removed from being a world title contender is a very long time.

Do they think anyone will buy that he has a chance to win this match ? It doesn’t seem very probable. Even the most optimistic of fans have to understand a person who has been a stepping stone for newcomers, and guys in the main event scene, needs some time to be made to look like a main event star again.

Would they really be willing to allow him to win ? He definitely has all the tools to be a world champion, but after years of wallowing in the mid-card he needs some marquee wins for people to buy him as a champion again. We all know matches are pre-determined in the WWE, but when things aren’t believable the product isn’t as interesting. As much as we may want to see Dolph win, it would be totally unbelievable to see him win the match, because if he were truly capable of winning then why hasn’t he had a world title match in 3 years ?

What are they going to do to make us think he has a chance to win this match ? Is there anything they can do to make us think he has a chance to win this match ? I don’t think so. I think it’s pretty clear they wanted someone who they knew would put on a good match with Dean, and make him look like a star. It’s pretty clear that Dean Ambrose is just a stepping for Dean, because WWE isn’t ready for him to lose the belt yet.

But wait, maybe that’s not true. What if they ran an angle where Dolph comes out every week talking about how he’s been held back by the authority for three years, and he knows he’s been ready for a long time to be a world champion again ? It would be a believable angle, considering how many people the authority has held back over the last few years. He needs to remind people that he is capable of winning this match.

If Dolph is going to get the win then he needs to turn heel. Dean Ambrose has thrived recently with this never say die attitude. He is the kind of guy who never quits and never gives up. He could keep that story going, while Dolph is the guy who tries and tries but just can’t get that three count. Frustration builds and builds over the course of the match, until Dolph finally resorts to some kind of cheating to win.

This wouldn’t be the worst story to tell, because Dolph was much more compelling as a heel, and his babyface character has gotten really stale. He doesn’t even have to cheat to win, he could just grab a chair and beat the crap out of Dean getting himself disqualified to continue the feud. Backlash is a perfect name to continue a feud with a very angry Dean Ambrose after having that happen to him at SummerSlam.

Either way they go they need to be careful how they tell the story of this feud if they want anyone to believe Dolph has a chance of beating Dean at the ppv. Here’s to hoping the WWE has crafted a good story for this match. This is one of the biggest ppv’s of the year, we don’t want to be disappointed.

The Steve Austin Show Unleashed with Bill Burr Part 2 7-28-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 – You can check this out every Tuesday/Thursday on Ringsidenews.com, along with other good wrestling articles/news. Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show Unleashed. On today’s episode, Bill Burr returns for another conversation. Let’s get to the show.

Austin’s wife Kristen joins him for the opening of today’s podcast episode.  They talk about mowing lawns and doing work around the house. Austin hates pushing a vacuum cleaner.

Austin turns the thermostat on 85 degrees when he’s not home. He came home and it was 105 degrees in his house recently, apparently the air conditioner needed to be fixed.

Austin told a story about being photo bombed by a fly when he was at the wedding of his little sister recently. He said he had to cut a promo on that fly. He challenges the fly to a match at WrestleMania next year in Orlando, Florida. He wants a Texas death match.

Bill said you have to get a good agent, you can’t try and negotiate contracts yourself. In the beginning, everyone thought he was funny, he just had problems selling tickets.

He talks about the importance of having a hook, but not using it forever. Your act should change over time, over-reliance on the same material will lead to a burn out by fans.

They both agree that it might take time to get over, but once you get over you’ll stay over. Dave Chapelle gave Bill that advice.

Bill has a lot of respect for Kevin Hart. He thinks he is a very confident guy. Bill said you could tell from day one that guy would be huge.

Austin said the worst thing you can do as a new wrestler is go to fast. Bill said its the same thing with comedy. He said he was so nervous when he first started doing stand-up comedy that he would sweat real bad. He was so afraid to bomb.

When Bill first started comedy, he wrote clean comedy. He gradually embraced his anger, and his natural personality. He said clean comedy just wasn’t him.

Bill thinks when you go to a comedy club you want to see people go off and say crazy stuff.

Bill has his helicopter pilot’s license. Austin is interested in getting his license to fly helicopters too. Bill talks to Austin about what it’s like to fly a helicopter.

Bill has a show on tv called “F Is For Family.” Vince Vaughn is part of the show with Bill. It takes him about 7 days to write an episode. It’s an animated show. They are 30 minute episodes.

Bill still loves to travel. Austin is a homebody nowadays, he doesn’t like to travel anymore.

This concludes today’s episode of The Steve Austin Show Unleashed with special guest Bill Burr. This podcast was just as good as the one he had with Bill last week, I recommend everyone check it out. Thanks guys for reading. Check back with us next Tuesday for the next episode of The Steve Austin Show.

What did you guys think of today’s episode of The Steve Austin Show Unleashed ? Has anyone seen Bill’s show “F Is For Family?”

The Steve Austin Show with Gabriel Iglesias 7-26-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 – You can check this out every Tuesday/Thursday on Ringsidenews.com, along with other good wrestling articles/news. Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show. On today’s show, Austin has comedian Gabriel Iglesias on deck. If you’ve never heard him before, he is hilarious, so this will be a funny show. Let’s get to the show.

Austin starts off the podcast talking about going to his sisters wedding in Edna, Texas. He said he ate three pieces of cake because it was that good. There was no alcohol served at the wedding, so of course Austin had to sneak off to get some.

He gives us some great advice about donuts. They aren’t good for your diet, and you heard it here on The Steve Austin Show.

Gabriel ribs Austin because last time they had a podcast episode together Austin forgot to hit the record button, so they missed out on some really great conversation.

Gabriel has a place he calls the fluffy compound, this is where the podcast is being held. He has a barber shop there. It costs him breakfast and a beer to have someone come out there to give him a hair cut.

He has a conference room there with a table and 24 chairs. He said sometimes the room fills up so much that people have to stand against the wall. He has his own gym facility there too. He said he’s tried going to a gym before, but it always turns into a fluffy meet and greet when he’s trying to work out.

He’s on the road 46 weeks of the year. He’s usually gone for 4 days out of the week, and he’s home for 3 days.

Austin asks Gabriel about the new craze Pokemon Go. Austin said he doesn’t understand the game, so Gabriel explains it a little to him.

Gabriel says his son is always on his phone. He’s either texting or playing Pokemon Go. He said he’s better off texting his son than trying to have a real life conversation with him.

He has 3 openers for his shows. These are guys he’s known for a long time. He does shows about 200 days out of the year. He likes to travel in groups.

Gabriel told a story about trying to sell a WrestleMania match to Austin a few years ago. He said Austin should come back and challenge CM Punk to a WrestleMania match. He was also very drunk.

Gabriel loves his tequila. He usually just takes shots. He said he’s done his fair share of partying, and loves to drink.

Gabriel said when he comes off stage from a show he is all amped up. He said sometimes it takes him time to come down from all the adrenaline. Austin said being in the ring is very similar.

He played football and wrestled in high school. He got kicked off the football team for refusing to give his pads to a teammate. He joined the speech team after that, which he loved.

He didn’t care to much about school growing up, but he did do enough to get by and get his diploma.

His early comedy material was very dirty. Little by little he started incorporating person life into his storytelling.

He told a story about being on stage at a corporate style event, not a comedy show, where he told a joke about kicking his dog off the bed. This turned out to be a very bad decision because some lady riled up the crowd and got people to chant dog kicker at him, forcing him off the stage. They kept harassing him about it for weeks over the internet.

He tells another story about having to do a show and follow a woman who talked for 30 minutes about domestic violence. This was a domestic violence event. He was so nervous going up there. He stunk up the joint, and finally stopped, apologized because this wasn’t the place for comedy, and offered to donate money to their organization, the crowd ate that part up. This is the last time he’s done a corporate show.

He said he didn’t always speak spanish very well, but he practiced a lot and is now much better with the language.

He has a big collection of VW buses. That was his first car. He has almost 20 now. He has 3 VW bugs.

Just like with Bill Goldberg, Austin offered Gabriel 15 grand for one of his bugs. Also, just like with Bill Goldberg, Gabriel declined.

This concludes today’s episode of The Steve Austin Show with comedian Gabriel Iglesias. This was a very funny conversation, well worth a listen. Thanks guys for reading. Check back with us this Thursday for the next episode of The Steve Austin Show Unleashed. Feel free to comment and start discussions below.

What did you guys think about today’s episode of The Steve Austin Show ? What are your favorite Gabriel Iglesias moments ?

Who’s Next On Deck For Dean Ambrose At SummerSlam 7-25-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

After BattleGround 2016, Dean Ambrose is still the WWE Champion. The two men he has been fighting for said championship, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, are on the other brand, so the next challenger will be a fresh opponent for Dean. Who should that be ?

Let’s list one by one everyone on the Smackdown Live roster who could believably challenge for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam, and then we will discuss their chances. AJ Styles, John Cena, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio, and Kane.

We can go ahead and eliminate a few people right off the bat. AJ Styles and John Cena appear to be on a collision course at SummerSlam. I can’t imagine that AJ Styles will be happy about being pinned by John Cena at the BattleGround ppv last night, and I imagine he’ll be looking for a rematch very soon. Randy Orton already has a scheduled match with Brock Lesnar, so you can eliminate him as well.

This leaves us with Bray Wyatt, Kane, Alberto Del Rio, and Dolph Ziggler. Kane is way past his prime, and does not need to be in the main event scene anymore, save it be a low level ppv as a way to put over a star. Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler are both in need of a bit of repair if we are to believe they have a chance against a world champion right now. This leaves us with only one real choice.

SummerSlam is one of the biggest ppv’s of the year, and therefore needs a big time angle for it’s championship matches. This isn’t a ppv designed for Dean Ambrose vs a guy who no-one thinks has a shot of winning, this is a ppv designed for one of the biggest angles of the year.

This is why Bray Wyatt is the best choice to face Dean Ambrose for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Bray Wyatt is coming off a big win over the longest reigning tag team champions. He is ready for this moment, and would bring a compelling angle in the lead-up to SummerSlam. He has a lot of history with Dean Ambrose to call upon, and they would make magic together.

He has been on the cusp of being in the main event for a long time, but has always lost the big match that would have put him over the top. This is WWE’s opportunity to make a new star for the Smackdown Live brand. He could be a main event player for years if they pull the trigger and allow him to take the spot he’s been ready for. It’s time Bray Wyatt got his marquee win, hopefully WWE will allow him that opportunity to grow.

Bray doesn’t have to necessarily win the championship at SummerSlam, because this would be a good feud to carry us into the fall, but he should win the championship within the next couple months. It’s time for the Wyatt Family to bring their terror upon the blue brand. He may only have Erick Rowan right now, but he’ll have Luke Harper back very soon, and they can go on the run they should have had for some time now.

As you can see, there aren’t a lot of established main event contenders on Smackdown Live right now. There are enough to get by at the moment, but they will definitely have to build up the talent they have so that there are enough credible challengers in the future.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to read. Feel free to leave any questions or comments below. I love debating everything wrestling, so take your shots and have some fun with it.

What do you guys think ? Is Bray Wyatt a good choice for the next contender to the WWE Championship ? If anyone disagrees, then who would be your choice and why ?

Best Way To Determine New Heavyweight Champion on Monday Night Raw 7/25/16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Dean Ambrose won the shield triple threat match at the BattleGround ppv last night, sending the WWE Championship to the Smackdown Live brand. Now that the WWE Championship is on the blue brand, the red brand needs a top prize for all it’s star talents. What is the best, most entertaining manner to declare a new champion ?

You have a ready made feud that would be a perfect way to introduce a new Heavyweight Championship to the red brand in Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. These guys have been feuding since Seth Rollins returned from injury a few months ago, and other than Dean Ambrose, they have been the last two WWE Champions.

Although this would be a great angle to run, that could culminate in a new World Heavyweight Champion at SummerSlam, a 1 on 1 feud between these two guys isn’t the best way to go about crowning a new World Heavyweight Champion. These guys have dominated the heavyweight championship scene for some time now, and even though having them fight for the title at SummerSlam would not be the worst decision, there is a better way.

They should have a tournament to crown a new champion. This tournament could accomplish several things. Having a tournament would make Monday Night Raw must see tv leading up to SummerSlam. They could plan it out so that you could have matches every week, and have the last two matches to determine the two competitors who will fight for the title at SummerSlam the Monday before SummerSlam. Prolonging the intrigue of who will be the next World Heavyweight Champion will drive up viewership, and increase excitement in the brand. It would also allow an opportunity to create new stars.

There are lots of stars that could be made with this tournament, and new feuds that could start as well. This would be a great way to introduce Finn Balor to the main roster, instantly establishing him as a main event player. You have talent who have never had a run in the main event that could also be established as main event players with a big run in the tournament, such as Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Cesaro. They should use this tournament to introduce the next wave of potential title contenders over the next year, while also establishing new feuds over the next few months.

Rollins and Reigns is too predictable, but not necessarily the worst option. It isn’t necessarily the worst option to have Rollins and Reigns be the final two competitors of this tournament, with one of them winning the new World Heavyweight Championship, but having people think along the way that someone else could have a chance would be much less predictable.

Let’s have some fun with this, and predict potential competitors and break-off feuds after the tournament. We’re gonna use some former WWE Champions, along with talent that has never won the title before, to create a compelling and engaging tournament.

This will be a 16 man tournament. The brackets and analysis will be determined below. As odd as it sounds, we aren’t going to include Brock Lesnar in this tournament, as he already has a feud for SummerSlam.

Bracket A
Seth Rollins vs Neville
Sami Zayn vs Rusev
Finn Balor vs Chris Jericho
Darren Young vs Big E
Bracket B
Roman Reigns vs Mark Henry
Braun Strowman vs Big Show
Kevin Owens vs Titus O’Neill
Cesaro vs Sheamus

The last time we had a Seth Rollins, Neville match it was incredible. This would be a great way to re-introduce Neville to the main roster after returning from injury. A great showing here would establish Neville as a main player for the red brand, while allowing him to have momentum heading into the cruiserweight division. This is for another article, but he should be the first Cruiserweight Champion.

Sami Zayn should get a clean roll-up win over Rusev here. Not only would this continue the momentum he has going right now, but it would also start a new feud between the two over the US Title. After losing to a quick roll-up, Rusev will be incensed. Rusev would attack Sami setting up a match for SummerSlam.

Finn Balor beating Chris Jericho would be a great way to start momentum for him on the main roster. Chris Jericho will not let this go lightly as we will see.

Darren Young should get a win over Big E. Big E is entrenched in the tag team scene, so he could afford a loss here to give Darren Young a big win.

Seth Rollins will meet Sami Zayn in the round of 8 and have an incredible match. Seth Rollins will win because Rusev will get involved.

Finn Balor and Darren Young will see similar circumstances. Chris Jericho isn’t going to like having lost to a new guy, so he will ensure Darren Young wins after another classic match. This will set up a Finn Balor, Chris Jericho feud, while also allowing a surprising run for Darren Young to the final four.

Seth Rollins should go to SummerSlam to wrestle for the World Heavyweight Champion, but not after helping establish Darren Young as a credible contender. This side of the bracket is set. We have established two new feuds, and made several talent look credible as we head into SummerSlam.

On the B side of the bracket, we’ll have Roman Reigns win an easy match against Mark Henry. Mark Henry is a former world champion, but is nearing the end of his career.

Braun Strowman and Big Show will fight to a no-contest, with no winner declared. This will be such a hard hitting match that both guys will get incensed. This would be a good first feud for Braun Strowman heading into SummerSlam. This would allow him to learn from a big guy, and former champion, while also helping to establish him as a monster. Who better than the Big Show to do that for Braun. People will be pissed that Roman Reigns gets a bye into the final four.

Kevin Owens, pissed about losing to Sami Zayn, and getting drafted so low, will demolish Titus O’Neill. It is time he establish his dominance.

Cesaro and Sheamus will have a great match with a clean win by Cesaro. He could use some momentum, along with someone to feud with over the next month or two. Many people may want him higher on the card, but there are to many people to establish right now ahead of him. He will get his turn, be patient.

Kevin Owens will beat Cesaro with help from Sheamus. Sheamus, angry after losing to Cesaro, will interfere setting up a future feud with Cesaro.

Kevin Owens should lose to Roman Reigns, after a classic match, to set up two things. Firstly, the main event of SummerSlam should be Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, set to end the rivalry for now. Secondly, this will be the final straw to make Kevin Owens explode.

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns would be a great main event for SummerSlam. Kevin Owens should have something to say about that though. After having fought for some time, with several near falls, Kevin Owens should come out and destroy both men. He would scream that the title belongs to him, and if he can’t fight for it then no-one will get it. It’s time Kevin Owens turn into a monster. He’s earned his time at the top, and he can enter the main event scene over the next few months. He would be a great choice as the first World Heavyweight Champion for the blue brand.

This is just one of many directions they can go to establish a new World Heavyweight Champion. The tournament could allow for many different combinations of matches and potential break-off feuds that would be really exciting.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this potential booking as much as I enjoyed writing it. Feel free to leave any comments or questions below. I love debate, and would love to debate with anyone who wants to re-imagine this scenario. Take care everyone, and check back tomorrow for another article.

The Steve Austin Show With Bill Burr 7/21/16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 – You can check this out every Tuesday/Thursday on Ringsidenews.com, along with other good wrestling articles/news. Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show Unleashed. Today’s episode features comedian Bill Burr. They discuss Bill Burr’s comedy career, the good and the bad. They also touch on wrestling topics, because Bill Burr is a huge pro-wrestling fan. Let’s get to the action.

Austin talks about an upcoming podcast episode. He is going to interview CT Fletcher, and of course they’ll discuss bodybuilding. It should be one to look forward to.

Austin talks about how he’s getting emails from all over the United States. He thinks it’s crazy how he’s getting emails from everywhere. He’s also getting emails from other countries all over the world.

Austin ribs Bill about driving a Toyota Prius. Bill said he knew he would get crap for coming to Austin’s house in a Prius.

Bill is getting a new car soon. He’s not looking forward to getting upset when people open their car door and hit his. Right now he couldn’t care less if someone does that to his Prius.
Austin doesn’t like to let other people drive his cars. Bill likes to have a guys voice on his gps.

Bill went to a bunch of colleges. He got his degree in Communications. He finished his degree at Emerson College.

Bill loves Mitch Hedberg and Dave Attell. Those are his favorite comedians.

Bill thinks Austin and The Rock brought wrestling back. He loved how funny the characters were. He used to take Monday nights off from doing stand-up to watch Monday Night Raw.

Bill questions why everyone claims pro-wrestling is fake, because every time he tries to do it he gets hurt.

Bill has 4 brothers. He grew up in Boston. He still thinks his older brother is ten times funnier than he is.

Austin said you don’t mess with mom when she has a wooden spoon in her hand. Bill said he used to get whooped with them too.

Bill reminisces when he first got into the business. He would sit down and write material, but it was difficult for him at first. He had to wrap his head around how to create that funny moment. He chickened out after booking his first show.

During his first gig, he was supposed to do 5 minutes, but he only did 3 minutes and bailed. He said you have to have the balls to go up there the first time.

Bill loves reading wrestling books. His favorite is Ric Flair’s book.

Bill talks about how he used to dream about being able to get paid to tell jokes. He wanted to be able to quit his day job, wake up whenever he wanted to, and to work when he wanted to work. Those were some of his fantasies before he made it in comedy.

Austin talked about when he was new in the business. During his first few months in Dallas, he would just get the crap beat out of him for 2 minutes. When he went to Tennessee after two months, he was nervous because he had to put on a 8 minute match. He had no idea what to do for 8 minutes. Bill said he can relate a lot to how Austin started off in the business.

He used to write out a whole stand-up bit, memorize it, and recite it from memory, but then he realized it’s better to pay attention to the crowd and switch things up. Nowadays he likes to mix and match different bits of his performance.

Austin agrees with the point that, as an entertainer, you need to learn to work an audience. You can’t be thinking while you’re performing, you need to just be reading the crowd and reacting.

Bill said once you become a known commodity, it becomes easier to get a crowd.

This concludes today’s episode of The Steve Austin Show Unleashed. Bill Burr sounds like a pretty funny guy. If you’ve never heard his comedy before, you should check him out. This was a great podcast, well worth a listen. Thanks guys for reading today. Check back with us next Tuesday for the next episode of The Steve Austin Show.

What did you guys think of today’s episode of The Steve Austin Show. Does anyone have any funny Bill Burr stories to share ? Is anyone interested in checking out his comedy now ?

BattleGround Predictions 7/24/16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

The Usos vs Breezango
This is a match that was announced last minute in order to have a match for the pre-show. Usually when a match is randomly announced with no build, the babyfaces win. Expect a pretty short match with a Usos victory.

The New Day vs The Wyatt Family
A lot of people are expecting a New Day victory because Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan are going to Smackdown, and Braun Strowman is going to Raw. This writer thinks that, since it’s not a title match, The New Day can more afford a loss here. A Wyatt Family victory will be a good springboard for Braun Strowman to look dominate heading into Raw, and for Bray Wyatt to look dominate heading into Smackdown. The Wyatt family won’t be broken up. Bray Wyatt will head to Smackdown with Erick Rowan, and await the return of Luke Harper. Expect a Wyatt Family victory here, leading to a push for Braun Strowman on Raw, and also leading to Bray Wyatt entering the main event scene on Smackdown.

Charlotte, Dana Brooks vs Sasha Banks, Mystery Partner
Sasha Banks mystery partner will be the returning Naomi. Notice that Naomi is one of the few injured superstars who was actually drafted to a brand. Naomi will be a big time player for the Smackdown women’s division, so this will be a high profile way to return her back to WWE TV. Naomi was also a former partner of Sasha, which is why she would want to return and help even the odds. Expect a victory for Sasha Banks and Naomi, that way Sasha Banks can get her title shot at SummerSlam next month.

Becky Lynch vs Natalya
There is a lot of bad blood between these two competitors, so expect a very physical match. Expect a Becky Lynch win, and an attack by Natalya on Becky Lynch after the match, which will allow this feud to continue onto SummerSlam, possibly even for the new Smackdown Women’s Championship.

Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn
This match has the potential to be the match of the night. This match will be just as physical, if not more, than the Becky Lynch, Natalya match. Expect a victory by Sami Zayn, which will turn Kevin Owens even more enraged than he already is. Kevin Owens is already mad about being drafted so low, so combining that with a Sami Zayn victory, we will see a Kevin Owens go on a destructive rampage that will push him into the main event. He will be out to prove a point, and we will all enjoy watching him do just that.

John Cena, Enzo, Big Cass vs The Club
With The Club going to separate brands, expect a victory for John Cena and friends. Either Luke Gallows or Karl Anderson will take the pin, creating a one on one rematch between John Cena and AJ Styles at SummerSlam. Enzo and Big Cass will get a championship match at SummerSlam as a result of this win.

Rusev vs Zack Ryder US Championship
Rusev has been on a tear lately, so don’t expect anything different from this match. Expect another win by Rusev.

The Miz vs Darren Young IC Title
This will be a highly competitive match, designed to make Darren Young look like a worthy contender. Do not expect a Darren Young win however, The Miz will find some nefarious way to win.

Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns WWE Title
This is a match that many a fan has been looking forward to for two years now. Expect a Seth Rollins victory here. There is a very strong possibility it will look like a victory for Roman Reigns, just for Rollins to come in and steal a pin on Dean Ambrose. This will allow for a feud between Rollins and Reigns at SummerSlam for the WWE title. Dean Ambrose got a clean win over Seth Rollins last Tuesday night on Smackdown Live, which allows him to lose the title here without looking to weak. He’ll have an opportunity to win the newly returned World Heavyweight Championship since he’ll deserve a rematch.

These are the expected results of tonight’s BattleGround ppv. What do you guys think of the picks ? Does anyone agree or disagree ? Feel free to shame me after the ppv for any wrong picks, but don’t expect to have that opportunity.

The Steve Austin Show with Ted Fowler 7-19-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 – You can check this out every Tuesday/Thursday on Ringsidenews.com, along with other good wrestling articles/news. Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show. On today’s show, Ted Fowler returns to shoot the breeze and talk about what life has been like recently. Let’s get to the show.

Austin’s wife Kristen calls right as the show starts, so he answers and picks on her about how lucky she is to be on the podcast today.

Austin likes getting on the treadmill for about twenty minutes before he works out. He’s not lifting real heavy right now, but he’s been getting in some good workouts lately.

He goes on a rant this week about people with bad body odor at the gym. He does not appreciate people ruining his workout because they smell so bad.

They recently had a power outage at the broken skull ranch. They have 5 refrigerators, which means a lot of potential bad food. Ted let everything re-freeze once they got the power back on. It’s taken a lot of work to clean all of them out so they don’t stink.

Rats had chewed up the wires to the tractor they have, so it needed to be repaired. A repair man came and fixed it while Ted was asleep, so he didn’t even know they had come. When he went to use the tractor to mow, he found a live raccoon asleep in the engine. They say they have some raccoons on PED’s down on the ranch.

Ted gets a flat tire in Austin’s dad’s Bronco. He was lucky that the Bronco had a spare tire. He had a jack, but no lug wrench. He wishes it could’ve happened a little closer to the house because it was very hot outside. It was a good four mile trek from the house.

Ted has had a little cold lately. He took a bunch of medicine, but he couldn’t shake the cold. He felt like he had a respiratory issue. He went to a doctor’s office, but the doctor wasn’t there to see him. He then goes to the urgent care and finds out he has a respiratory virus. He got two shots, one in each butt cheek, and one of the shots burned bad. He was sweating really bad.

When he got to the register to pay the bill it turns out it was 563 dollars. He has insurance, but had just changed health insurance companies, so he didn’t have proof of insurance with him. He ended up signing up for some plan to lower the bill to a little less than 200 dollars.

Austin asked Ted if he should prepare to hear any wedding bells ringing soon. Ted laughed hard, because he apparently has no plans to get married anytime soon.

This concludes today’s episode of The Steve Austin Show. Today’s episode was laid-back, and full of good stories about what’s been going on with these two guys. Thanks guys for reading. Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show. On today’s episode, Austin will speak with Vampiro. They will talk about the business, Lucha Underground, and the lost art of selling. Let’s get to the show.

Austin said his shoulder surgery is going well, he’s hoping to be 100% soon.

Austin goes on a rant about the use of turn signals. He even explains where one is and how to use it. This podcast is worth listening to just to hear this part, it was very funny.

Austin said there’s nothing wrong for a newer wrestler to be carried in a match by a veteran wrestler. You shouldn’t take it as an insult, there’s nothing wrong with learning from a veteran.

Vampiro said he’s not a fan anymore. He doesn’t think there’s much logic to wrestling anymore. He thinks it’s put together like a video game, and that doesn’t do it for him anymore.

Vampiro thinks Lucha Underground does a good job of putting validity to the violence. He stresses the point of selling moves.

Austin agrees with the need for selling moves in a match. He gives the example of the Will Ospreay, Ricochet match, which he thought was a great athletic example, by stating if they would have sold more it could have meant more.

Austin thinks character development is very important. He feels like it’s hard for him to get into a character if he doesn’t understand their goals and motivations.

Vampiro doesn’t know what they are gonna do for season 4 of Lucha Underground because he thinks season 3 was so good.

Austin’s favorite guitarist ever is Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Vampiro has been in movies, but nothing special. He said he really likes acting.

Vampiro wants to do another match, hopefully with a newcomer so he can job for them and be a launching point for their career. He wants to wrestle PJ Black and Johnny Mundo.

This concludes today’s episode of The Steve Austin Show Unleashed with special guest Vampiro. This was a very interesting podcast about wrestling, it is well worth a listen.

Thanks guys for reading. Check back with us this Tuesday for the next episode of The Steve Austin Show. Feel free to comment and start discussions below.

The Steve Austin Show with Chip Foose 7/12/16

Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show with car designer Chip Foose. They will discuss how Chip got into the business, his passion for cars, and the story of his life. Lets get to the show.

Austin said he loved the UFC 200 card. He thought Cain Velasquez looked fantastic. He’s also really looking forward to the Jose Aldo, Conor McGregor fight.

He felt really bad that Daniel Cormier put so much time into preparing to fight Jon Jones just to see him drop out so close to the fight. He understands how hard it would be to have to switch game plans so close to fight time.

He was proud of Brock Lesnar for pulling out a win. Brock told Austin he wanted to fight again about a year and a half ago, but Austin was still surprised to see him go for it.

He was really impressed with Amanda Nunes. He is excited to see where they are going with that women’s division. considering how many contenders they could have right now.

Right now Chip is interested in taking older muscle cars and putting newer technologies in them.

Chip started building hot rods and cars as a hobby, and he is lucky enough for it to turn into a full-time job. His dad ran a body shop during the week, and built hot rods on the weekends.

He was very lucky to have the opportunity to apprentice under his dad at a very early age.

He said he wasn’t the greatest student when he was younger. Part of his problem was that he never did any homework. He was intelligent enough to get through without trying really hard.

His wife told him that she would not marry him until he got a degree. She wanted a husband who had a college degree, but she saw potential in him. The job he had at the time sent him back to school and agreed to pay for it as long as he gave them three years after graduation.

He feels like he was never introduced to the automobile world, he was born in it. He has been passionate about the business since he was a small child.

There was a time period where he was able to build a car in 8 days, and then he was on to the next. That’s efficiency at its finest.

He has a show on tv called Overhaulin’. You can find this show on the Velocity channel. He also owns his own business called Foose Design.

He is the youngest person to be admitted into the Hot Rod Hall of Fame. He was very honored to be a part of it.

That concludes today’s episode of The Steve Austin Show. If you are into cars then this is the podcast for you. It was very interesting hearing about his passion for cars. Thanks everyone for reading. Feel free to continue discussing the podcast below. Check back with us this Thursday for the next episode of The Steve Austin Show Unleashed.
