James Ellsworth Is Ms Money In The Bank ?

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 – Follow me on Twitter.

                                                          What Is Byron Thinking ?

Last Sunday at the Money in the Bank ppv, James Ellsworth grabbed the womens’ briefcase and tossed it to Carmella. Let’s answer a few current questions.

Is this bad for the current state of women’s wrestling ?

This is an emphatic NO. The state of women’s wrestling is miles ahead of where it was a few years ago. They are getting longer matches, more prominent spots on the card, and countless first time, making history, matches, so let’s stop complaining about every little thing like the state of women’s wrestling is still what it was 5 years ago.

Why would they have James Ellsworth be the one to grab the belt ?

This is a very heel thing to do. You aren’t supposed to like what happened, and the fact that you don’t is why it’s a good heel move. There are to many “cool” heels right now that get cheered, it’s nice to have a heel that does things everyone hates.

Carmella isn’t a star yet, and now people are talking about her; that’s a good thing. She also is the one person in that match that needed to cheat to win. She is a heel, that’s what heels do. Go watch wrestling history and you will find many instances of a heel champion that cheats to win almost every time.

It is also a new spin on something they have done before. They’ve had people that aren’t in the match interrupt and help someone in the match win, but they’ve never had someone actually grab the briefcase for someone, so they’re doing something different. It got a lot of people talking, and that is a win.

Why was this such a great move ?

The biggest reason reason this was a great move is because it created CONTROVERSY. The more people talking about it means the more exposure they’re getting. The more exposure they’re getting the more potential people are going to want to watch. They definitely need that considering where ratings have been for awhile now.

We’re getting another money in the bank match next week ? How is that a bad thing ?

James Ellsworth is not Ms money in the bank, but his involvement was a smart decision by WWE.

Keep trying new things and get people talking, that’s what we want.

What do you guys think ? What are your opinions on this controversy ? Debate me.

The Steve Austin Show with Tim Kail 10-04-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 – You can check this out every Tuesday/Thursday on Ringsidenews.com, along with other good wrestling articles/news. Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show. Today’s guest is Tim Kail from the Work of Wrestling podcast. These guys are going to talk about wrestling, wrestling, and more wrestling. Let’s get to the action.

Austin recently made a trip with his wife to Nevada, which is about a 8 to 9 hour drive. He said he likes to leave really early so he has the bulk of his trip done by noon. They didn’t get to leave until around noon, and Austin wasn’t happy. He will be heading back home soon.

Tim’s favorite match of all time is the Bret Hart vs Steve Austin match at WrestleMania. He’s a very passionate pro wrestling fan. He’s originally from Pennsylvania, but he currently lives in New York.

He became a pro wrestling fan after watching Rocky 3 with Hulk Hogan. He really got into wrestling during the attitude era.

He doesn’t have a lot of knowledge of 80’s pro wrestling, but he recently has started watching some WCCW. He likes how they really presented it as a sport.

He really hopes WWE starts doing a better job of developing distinct characters that speak from honesty. He also wants to see shorter matches with less flipping.

Tim thinks wins and losses do matter. They can also not matter if there is no follow up to either. They reference the Bret Hart, Steve Austin match from WrestleMania years ago. Austin lost, but the way he lost helped propel him to a monster run.

Austin likes how NXT is presented. It reminds him of days gone by.

Tim thinks having an authority heel figure is already played out. He thinks that Austin and Vince McMahon did it better than anyone ever could.

Tim really likes the Braun Strowman and Nia Jax squash matches. He really wants to see the sit down interviews they put on wwe.com on Raw or Smackdown.

This concludes today’s episode of The Steve Austin Show. If you haven’t listened to it yet then you should check it out. Thanks guys for reading. Check back with us this Thursday for the next episode of The Steve Austin Show Unleashed. Also, check out the rest of the website for other excellent articles and news. How Should We Introduce The Cruiserweight Division On Raw 8-7-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

The cruiserweight classic has been such a fun tournament so far. The whole presentation has been really unique, compared to traditional WWE broadcasts, and they could definitely borrow a lot from it in order to introduce the cruiserweight divison on Monday Night Raw. Let’s have some fun and discuss how we will introduce the cruiserweight division.

What do we want to accomplish here ? The cruiserweight classic would be a great model to go by while introducing the cruiserweight division to Monday Night Raw. The cruiserweight division has not been seen on WWE tv since September of 2007. They have finally decided to bring back the division, and everyone is excited. It would be difficult to inroduce a whole slew of new people, and it would be hard to have a division with few candidates already on the main roster, so maybe we should think about how we can introduce a whole division at one time.

Who do we have have on the main roster that we can use so far ?  We’re gonna throw out the weight limit idea right now since we don’t know if they will implement it on the main roster, and because anyone could lose weight if they needed to. On the Raw roster right now that could be put in the division are as follows: Sin Cara, and Neville. There are several other people who could be put there, but more than likely they’ll be higher up on the card. This shows you they need to introduce quite a few people.

Instead of having ten or more new guys randomly appear on Raw, they should take the cruiserweight classic and move it to Raw. This would allow them to introduce many new people, while also crowning a champion in an exciting fashion. The Cruiserweight Classic has been amazing so far, and having a second one with some new blood would be amazing too. They could, and should, start it after the Cruiserweight Classic is over, and have the finals be a part of a ppv.

What should we keep from the cruiserweight classic ? They are doing an excellent job introducing a slew of competitors most people haven’t ever seen before, or don’t know much about. These types of interviews would be a good way to introduce a bunch of new guys to Raw, while also allowing us to fall in love with their ring styles.

Would it be overkill to have another cruiserweight tournament so soon after the Cruiserweight Classic ? I don’t think it would be as long as it’s booked to be exciting, and having it crown the first Cruiserweight champion in a long time would give it exciting stakes.

Who should be the first Cruiserweight champion ? It should be Neville. He is a star in the making, and fits the mold of a cruiserweight so well. He’s been pretty much directionless since he joined the main roster, and since it’s obvious WWE has nothing for him to do right now this would be a great use of him to let his star rise. He deserves it.

What do you guys think ? How would you like for them to introduce the cruiserweight division to Raw ?

Best Direction For Kevin Owens 8-1-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Kevin Owens has been losing a lot lately. He lost out on the chance to fight for the new Universal Championship at SummerSlam. He lost to Sami Zayn at BattleGround. He lost in the Money in the Bank match in June. He was even picked way lower than he should have been during the draft, which really made him mad. Where is all this leading to ?

Kevin Owens is a main event talent, and he should be treated as such. Look back to his debut matches against John Cena last year and you’ll see a talent that is primed to be a perennial main event player. He has resided in the upper midcard, and even won a few midcard titles, in his year on the main roster, but he has largely lost the matches he has had against the resident main eventers.

He has been in a months long feud with Sami Zayn, pretty much since Sami has joined the main roster early this year. That feud is finally over, for now, and needs to be the launching point for Kevin Owens to join the main event scene. Yes, he lost to Sami Zayn, but he can use all these losses to fuel his rise in stardom. How are we going to accomplish that ?

Kevin Owens is at his best as a dominant force, ala Brock Lesnar. He should use all these losses recently as a fuel to turn him crazy and send him on a path of destruction, destroying everyone in his way. He showed great anger at being picked so low in the draft, and that is the exactly the Kevin Owens we need to see now.

It would be awesome to see him interfere in the Seth Rollins, Finn Balor match at SummerSlam and destroy them both. This would announce him as a force to be reckoned with, and let him join the championship scene that he belongs in. Kevin Owens will be a world champion before next WrestleMania, and you can count on that.

Dolph Ziggler ? 7-31-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Why did the WWE choose Dolph Ziggler to face Dean Ambrose at the SummerSlam ppv this year ? He’s been stuck in the upper mid-card for several years now. Sure he’s had a few halfway decent runs as a midcard champion over the last few years, but nothing truly memorable.

Were they going for the ultimate shock ? They sure accomplished that. It looked like they were either prepping for a 3 way match with AJ Styles and John Cena, or a singles match with Bray Wyatt. I highly doubt anyone truly thought Dolph would be the one challenging for the title at SummerSlam.

When is the last time Dolph had a world title match ? The last time he held a world title he lost it to Del Rio at the Payback ppv in June of 2013, which would be over 3 years ago. I can’t recall a time he’s even challenged for a world title since. Three years removed from being a world title contender is a very long time.

Do they think anyone will buy that he has a chance to win this match ? It doesn’t seem very probable. Even the most optimistic of fans have to understand a person who has been a stepping stone for newcomers, and guys in the main event scene, needs some time to be made to look like a main event star again.

Would they really be willing to allow him to win ? He definitely has all the tools to be a world champion, but after years of wallowing in the mid-card he needs some marquee wins for people to buy him as a champion again. We all know matches are pre-determined in the WWE, but when things aren’t believable the product isn’t as interesting. As much as we may want to see Dolph win, it would be totally unbelievable to see him win the match, because if he were truly capable of winning then why hasn’t he had a world title match in 3 years ?

What are they going to do to make us think he has a chance to win this match ? Is there anything they can do to make us think he has a chance to win this match ? I don’t think so. I think it’s pretty clear they wanted someone who they knew would put on a good match with Dean, and make him look like a star. It’s pretty clear that Dean Ambrose is just a stepping for Dean, because WWE isn’t ready for him to lose the belt yet.

But wait, maybe that’s not true. What if they ran an angle where Dolph comes out every week talking about how he’s been held back by the authority for three years, and he knows he’s been ready for a long time to be a world champion again ? It would be a believable angle, considering how many people the authority has held back over the last few years. He needs to remind people that he is capable of winning this match.

If Dolph is going to get the win then he needs to turn heel. Dean Ambrose has thrived recently with this never say die attitude. He is the kind of guy who never quits and never gives up. He could keep that story going, while Dolph is the guy who tries and tries but just can’t get that three count. Frustration builds and builds over the course of the match, until Dolph finally resorts to some kind of cheating to win.

This wouldn’t be the worst story to tell, because Dolph was much more compelling as a heel, and his babyface character has gotten really stale. He doesn’t even have to cheat to win, he could just grab a chair and beat the crap out of Dean getting himself disqualified to continue the feud. Backlash is a perfect name to continue a feud with a very angry Dean Ambrose after having that happen to him at SummerSlam.

Either way they go they need to be careful how they tell the story of this feud if they want anyone to believe Dolph has a chance of beating Dean at the ppv. Here’s to hoping the WWE has crafted a good story for this match. This is one of the biggest ppv’s of the year, we don’t want to be disappointed.

Who’s Next On Deck For Dean Ambrose At SummerSlam 7-25-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

After BattleGround 2016, Dean Ambrose is still the WWE Champion. The two men he has been fighting for said championship, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, are on the other brand, so the next challenger will be a fresh opponent for Dean. Who should that be ?

Let’s list one by one everyone on the Smackdown Live roster who could believably challenge for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam, and then we will discuss their chances. AJ Styles, John Cena, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Dolph Ziggler, Alberto Del Rio, and Kane.

We can go ahead and eliminate a few people right off the bat. AJ Styles and John Cena appear to be on a collision course at SummerSlam. I can’t imagine that AJ Styles will be happy about being pinned by John Cena at the BattleGround ppv last night, and I imagine he’ll be looking for a rematch very soon. Randy Orton already has a scheduled match with Brock Lesnar, so you can eliminate him as well.

This leaves us with Bray Wyatt, Kane, Alberto Del Rio, and Dolph Ziggler. Kane is way past his prime, and does not need to be in the main event scene anymore, save it be a low level ppv as a way to put over a star. Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler are both in need of a bit of repair if we are to believe they have a chance against a world champion right now. This leaves us with only one real choice.

SummerSlam is one of the biggest ppv’s of the year, and therefore needs a big time angle for it’s championship matches. This isn’t a ppv designed for Dean Ambrose vs a guy who no-one thinks has a shot of winning, this is a ppv designed for one of the biggest angles of the year.

This is why Bray Wyatt is the best choice to face Dean Ambrose for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam. Bray Wyatt is coming off a big win over the longest reigning tag team champions. He is ready for this moment, and would bring a compelling angle in the lead-up to SummerSlam. He has a lot of history with Dean Ambrose to call upon, and they would make magic together.

He has been on the cusp of being in the main event for a long time, but has always lost the big match that would have put him over the top. This is WWE’s opportunity to make a new star for the Smackdown Live brand. He could be a main event player for years if they pull the trigger and allow him to take the spot he’s been ready for. It’s time Bray Wyatt got his marquee win, hopefully WWE will allow him that opportunity to grow.

Bray doesn’t have to necessarily win the championship at SummerSlam, because this would be a good feud to carry us into the fall, but he should win the championship within the next couple months. It’s time for the Wyatt Family to bring their terror upon the blue brand. He may only have Erick Rowan right now, but he’ll have Luke Harper back very soon, and they can go on the run they should have had for some time now.

As you can see, there aren’t a lot of established main event contenders on Smackdown Live right now. There are enough to get by at the moment, but they will definitely have to build up the talent they have so that there are enough credible challengers in the future.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to read. Feel free to leave any questions or comments below. I love debating everything wrestling, so take your shots and have some fun with it.

What do you guys think ? Is Bray Wyatt a good choice for the next contender to the WWE Championship ? If anyone disagrees, then who would be your choice and why ?

Best Way To Determine New Heavyweight Champion on Monday Night Raw 7/25/16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Dean Ambrose won the shield triple threat match at the BattleGround ppv last night, sending the WWE Championship to the Smackdown Live brand. Now that the WWE Championship is on the blue brand, the red brand needs a top prize for all it’s star talents. What is the best, most entertaining manner to declare a new champion ?

You have a ready made feud that would be a perfect way to introduce a new Heavyweight Championship to the red brand in Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. These guys have been feuding since Seth Rollins returned from injury a few months ago, and other than Dean Ambrose, they have been the last two WWE Champions.

Although this would be a great angle to run, that could culminate in a new World Heavyweight Champion at SummerSlam, a 1 on 1 feud between these two guys isn’t the best way to go about crowning a new World Heavyweight Champion. These guys have dominated the heavyweight championship scene for some time now, and even though having them fight for the title at SummerSlam would not be the worst decision, there is a better way.

They should have a tournament to crown a new champion. This tournament could accomplish several things. Having a tournament would make Monday Night Raw must see tv leading up to SummerSlam. They could plan it out so that you could have matches every week, and have the last two matches to determine the two competitors who will fight for the title at SummerSlam the Monday before SummerSlam. Prolonging the intrigue of who will be the next World Heavyweight Champion will drive up viewership, and increase excitement in the brand. It would also allow an opportunity to create new stars.

There are lots of stars that could be made with this tournament, and new feuds that could start as well. This would be a great way to introduce Finn Balor to the main roster, instantly establishing him as a main event player. You have talent who have never had a run in the main event that could also be established as main event players with a big run in the tournament, such as Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Cesaro. They should use this tournament to introduce the next wave of potential title contenders over the next year, while also establishing new feuds over the next few months.

Rollins and Reigns is too predictable, but not necessarily the worst option. It isn’t necessarily the worst option to have Rollins and Reigns be the final two competitors of this tournament, with one of them winning the new World Heavyweight Championship, but having people think along the way that someone else could have a chance would be much less predictable.

Let’s have some fun with this, and predict potential competitors and break-off feuds after the tournament. We’re gonna use some former WWE Champions, along with talent that has never won the title before, to create a compelling and engaging tournament.

This will be a 16 man tournament. The brackets and analysis will be determined below. As odd as it sounds, we aren’t going to include Brock Lesnar in this tournament, as he already has a feud for SummerSlam.

Bracket A
Seth Rollins vs Neville
Sami Zayn vs Rusev
Finn Balor vs Chris Jericho
Darren Young vs Big E
Bracket B
Roman Reigns vs Mark Henry
Braun Strowman vs Big Show
Kevin Owens vs Titus O’Neill
Cesaro vs Sheamus

The last time we had a Seth Rollins, Neville match it was incredible. This would be a great way to re-introduce Neville to the main roster after returning from injury. A great showing here would establish Neville as a main player for the red brand, while allowing him to have momentum heading into the cruiserweight division. This is for another article, but he should be the first Cruiserweight Champion.

Sami Zayn should get a clean roll-up win over Rusev here. Not only would this continue the momentum he has going right now, but it would also start a new feud between the two over the US Title. After losing to a quick roll-up, Rusev will be incensed. Rusev would attack Sami setting up a match for SummerSlam.

Finn Balor beating Chris Jericho would be a great way to start momentum for him on the main roster. Chris Jericho will not let this go lightly as we will see.

Darren Young should get a win over Big E. Big E is entrenched in the tag team scene, so he could afford a loss here to give Darren Young a big win.

Seth Rollins will meet Sami Zayn in the round of 8 and have an incredible match. Seth Rollins will win because Rusev will get involved.

Finn Balor and Darren Young will see similar circumstances. Chris Jericho isn’t going to like having lost to a new guy, so he will ensure Darren Young wins after another classic match. This will set up a Finn Balor, Chris Jericho feud, while also allowing a surprising run for Darren Young to the final four.

Seth Rollins should go to SummerSlam to wrestle for the World Heavyweight Champion, but not after helping establish Darren Young as a credible contender. This side of the bracket is set. We have established two new feuds, and made several talent look credible as we head into SummerSlam.

On the B side of the bracket, we’ll have Roman Reigns win an easy match against Mark Henry. Mark Henry is a former world champion, but is nearing the end of his career.

Braun Strowman and Big Show will fight to a no-contest, with no winner declared. This will be such a hard hitting match that both guys will get incensed. This would be a good first feud for Braun Strowman heading into SummerSlam. This would allow him to learn from a big guy, and former champion, while also helping to establish him as a monster. Who better than the Big Show to do that for Braun. People will be pissed that Roman Reigns gets a bye into the final four.

Kevin Owens, pissed about losing to Sami Zayn, and getting drafted so low, will demolish Titus O’Neill. It is time he establish his dominance.

Cesaro and Sheamus will have a great match with a clean win by Cesaro. He could use some momentum, along with someone to feud with over the next month or two. Many people may want him higher on the card, but there are to many people to establish right now ahead of him. He will get his turn, be patient.

Kevin Owens will beat Cesaro with help from Sheamus. Sheamus, angry after losing to Cesaro, will interfere setting up a future feud with Cesaro.

Kevin Owens should lose to Roman Reigns, after a classic match, to set up two things. Firstly, the main event of SummerSlam should be Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, set to end the rivalry for now. Secondly, this will be the final straw to make Kevin Owens explode.

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns would be a great main event for SummerSlam. Kevin Owens should have something to say about that though. After having fought for some time, with several near falls, Kevin Owens should come out and destroy both men. He would scream that the title belongs to him, and if he can’t fight for it then no-one will get it. It’s time Kevin Owens turn into a monster. He’s earned his time at the top, and he can enter the main event scene over the next few months. He would be a great choice as the first World Heavyweight Champion for the blue brand.

This is just one of many directions they can go to establish a new World Heavyweight Champion. The tournament could allow for many different combinations of matches and potential break-off feuds that would be really exciting.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this potential booking as much as I enjoyed writing it. Feel free to leave any comments or questions below. I love debate, and would love to debate with anyone who wants to re-imagine this scenario. Take care everyone, and check back tomorrow for another article.

BattleGround Predictions 7/24/16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

The Usos vs Breezango
This is a match that was announced last minute in order to have a match for the pre-show. Usually when a match is randomly announced with no build, the babyfaces win. Expect a pretty short match with a Usos victory.

The New Day vs The Wyatt Family
A lot of people are expecting a New Day victory because Bray Wyatt and Erick Rowan are going to Smackdown, and Braun Strowman is going to Raw. This writer thinks that, since it’s not a title match, The New Day can more afford a loss here. A Wyatt Family victory will be a good springboard for Braun Strowman to look dominate heading into Raw, and for Bray Wyatt to look dominate heading into Smackdown. The Wyatt family won’t be broken up. Bray Wyatt will head to Smackdown with Erick Rowan, and await the return of Luke Harper. Expect a Wyatt Family victory here, leading to a push for Braun Strowman on Raw, and also leading to Bray Wyatt entering the main event scene on Smackdown.

Charlotte, Dana Brooks vs Sasha Banks, Mystery Partner
Sasha Banks mystery partner will be the returning Naomi. Notice that Naomi is one of the few injured superstars who was actually drafted to a brand. Naomi will be a big time player for the Smackdown women’s division, so this will be a high profile way to return her back to WWE TV. Naomi was also a former partner of Sasha, which is why she would want to return and help even the odds. Expect a victory for Sasha Banks and Naomi, that way Sasha Banks can get her title shot at SummerSlam next month.

Becky Lynch vs Natalya
There is a lot of bad blood between these two competitors, so expect a very physical match. Expect a Becky Lynch win, and an attack by Natalya on Becky Lynch after the match, which will allow this feud to continue onto SummerSlam, possibly even for the new Smackdown Women’s Championship.

Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn
This match has the potential to be the match of the night. This match will be just as physical, if not more, than the Becky Lynch, Natalya match. Expect a victory by Sami Zayn, which will turn Kevin Owens even more enraged than he already is. Kevin Owens is already mad about being drafted so low, so combining that with a Sami Zayn victory, we will see a Kevin Owens go on a destructive rampage that will push him into the main event. He will be out to prove a point, and we will all enjoy watching him do just that.

John Cena, Enzo, Big Cass vs The Club
With The Club going to separate brands, expect a victory for John Cena and friends. Either Luke Gallows or Karl Anderson will take the pin, creating a one on one rematch between John Cena and AJ Styles at SummerSlam. Enzo and Big Cass will get a championship match at SummerSlam as a result of this win.

Rusev vs Zack Ryder US Championship
Rusev has been on a tear lately, so don’t expect anything different from this match. Expect another win by Rusev.

The Miz vs Darren Young IC Title
This will be a highly competitive match, designed to make Darren Young look like a worthy contender. Do not expect a Darren Young win however, The Miz will find some nefarious way to win.

Dean Ambrose vs Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns WWE Title
This is a match that many a fan has been looking forward to for two years now. Expect a Seth Rollins victory here. There is a very strong possibility it will look like a victory for Roman Reigns, just for Rollins to come in and steal a pin on Dean Ambrose. This will allow for a feud between Rollins and Reigns at SummerSlam for the WWE title. Dean Ambrose got a clean win over Seth Rollins last Tuesday night on Smackdown Live, which allows him to lose the title here without looking to weak. He’ll have an opportunity to win the newly returned World Heavyweight Championship since he’ll deserve a rematch.

These are the expected results of tonight’s BattleGround ppv. What do you guys think of the picks ? Does anyone agree or disagree ? Feel free to shame me after the ppv for any wrong picks, but don’t expect to have that opportunity.

Raw Review 3-7-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

                                                         Shane McMahon Promo
Shane talks about the match and its implications. The people are very hot for Shane to take over Raw. It’s neat how he’s implementing things that people say in real life about the business in his speech to make it seem like he’s really trying to fix problems people see in the business. That’s a good way to cater to fan interest.

They tease Undertaker coming out just for Vince to come out. Vince continues his diatribe from last week and breaks a picture of him and Shane on the ground. Vince has security escort Shane out of the building but instead Shane fights them off in what looked like the fakest fight scene ever. This kinda showed how much of a non-performer Shane is when it comes to the actual fighting part.
                                                              Kevin Owens vs Neville
Mate is an Australian term not an term used by the British no ? This was a great match both these guys are excellent wrestlers with excellent chemistry. They had the closest three count for Neville I’ve seen in awhile it was awesome. Kevin Owens gets a quick rollup for a win and clutches his title like only he can.

Neville had a great rebound when he jumped over the top rope and was able to land on his feet after doing a flip when Kevin Owens moved out of the way. Neville’s high flying maneuvers are just breathtaking he is a daredevil like no other. I hope he gets a push for at least a midcard title very shortly after WrestleMania he deserves it.

After the match Kevin Owens attacks Neville until Sami Zayn comes out for the save. This is the first time we’ve seen Sami since the Rumble a lot of people have been waiting for him to make his main roster debut for awhile now. Zayn and Neville send Kevin Owens packing.
                                                  HHH Dean Ambrose Recap
They recapped last Monday’s interaction and fight between HHH and Dean Ambrose. I hope they allow Dean Ambrose to look good at Roadblock this weekend.

Dolph Ziggler and Stephanie McMahon had an interesting encounter backstage rehashing the Survivor Series Match from a year and a half ago. I always thought WWE dropped the ball when they didn’t let follow that win up with a push for Dolph Ziggler but maybe they’ll finally do that. I’m guessing this will just lead to the 1v3 match she set up instead.
                                              Brie Bella vs Summer Rae
This was a very short match. Brie Bella had the match in hand when Lana appeared distracting Brie long enough for Summer Rae to execute the worst rollup in history for the win.

After the match Lana attacks Brie and gives her a facebuster. Looks like we might finally get to see Lana wrestle a match. I don’t understand why she no longer comes out with Rusev.
                                                       Dean Ambrose Promo
Dean Ambrose comes out promoting the match at Roadblock trying to convince people he has a chance of winning the title. I love Dean when he talks he’s such a smartass it’s really funny.

HHH comes out to banter with Dean. He told HHH to suck it that was great. This battle of words leads to a match between Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt later in the evening.

It’s interesting that they are giving him this chance in the spotlight while Roman is out because they are really showing why people like him more than Roman Reigns. As much as I love Dean getting this spot right now if the plan is to make Roman Reigns the face of the company over Dean they are not helping him out any at all.
Dolph Ziggler vs Sheamus Wade Barrett and Rusev
As much as I do like a lot of the individual talent in the League of Nations they just don’t seem to mesh well together. Wade Barrett was the first elimination by Dolph Ziggler. Shortly after Sheamus brogue kicks Dolph and pins him.

They are obviously still treating the League of Nations like a joke. Even though they won there’s no reason Dolph should have been able to pin anyone in that match.
                                        Shane McMahon Career Highlights
They showed a lot of the past crazy moves Shane McMahon is known for showing us why we should give him a chance in his match with The Undertaker.

Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch had a backstage encounter where Becky called out Sasha for having a Nicki Minaj attitude. That was funny.
Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch vs Naomi and Tamina
This was another extremely short match for the women. Sasha gives Naomi the backstabber into the bank statement for the win. Charlotte comes out after and attacks Sasha and then takes out Becky Lynch.

This was a quick way to establish Charlotte as a vicious predator it was sad that it was at the expense of Naomi and Tamina looking bad in a short match.

It’s funny to see R-Truth, after weeks of denying Goldust advances, be the one trying to convince Goldust to be his partner. To bad Goldust butt would explode if he ate that pizza it looked very good. Mark Henry was there to benefit from Goldust not wanting the pizza.
The New Day vs Y2AJ Tag Title Match
This was a great match even better than the last one they had together. The match was close with a lot of near falls. You thought the whole time either team could win. After a hard fought match The New Day wins a clean match.

I’m surprised that they won clean I thought for sure Chris Jericho would turn on AJ mid match and turn heel and that would be how the match would end but instead they had Chris show his frustration after the loss and attack AJ. It’s interesting that he would get mad considering he’s the one who lost the match but they’ve been hinting at this heel turn for awhile now so it was no surprise to see it happen.

AJ had a few breathtaking moves during the match he proved tonight why he deserves to be a main event player in WWE. It was great to see Chris Jericho stuff that shirt in AJ’s mouth that was an awesome heel move. It’s very refreshing to see Chris change his attitude he’s much better as a heel than he was as a face recently.
                                                     Kalisto vs Tyler Breeze
This was a quick match establishing Kalisto as worthy of holding that title. After the match Kalisto was giving a backstage interview when Ryback interrupted. The speech he gave was more like an angry face than a heel so maybe they’re slow-burning his heel turn instead of jumping him into being a heel.
Ryback vs Curtis Axel

This was another short match. Ryback came out beat up Curtis Axel and then left. If they are going to turn him heel it’s time for him to do something bad. At this point he seems more like just a mad babyface.
Dean Ambrose vs Bray Wyatt
This was an entertaining match but not as good as some of their previous encounters. Just as you think Dean Ambrose is going to win the match the lights go out and the Wyatt Family appears on the ring apron. They attack and take out Dean Ambrose allowing Dean to win by disqualification.

After the attack out comes HHH while The Wyatt family looks on. As HHH stands over Dean Ambrose Bray Wyatt gets in HHH’s face and stares him down. The crowd eats this up showing how big of a babyface Bray Wyatt could be. Bray rubs the belt as if its what he wants and he walks away.

Bray Wyatt has long deserved a shot to be in the world title picture I hope they finally push him that way. This segment showed how much the crowd would love to see him there.

HHH teases throwing Ambrose through a table but gets hit with dirty deeds instead. Dean Ambrose holds up the world title as HHH lays fallen and the crowd erupts.

This was a good episode of Raw with a few great matches and interesting segments that geared more towards promoting Roadblock instead of WrestleMania. The best match of the night was the Y2AJ vs New Day match. If you have a few hours to spare definitely check this out.

Best Direction After A Shane McMahon Win Over The Undertaker

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.
This WrestleMania has a match between Shane McMahon and The Undertaker inside Hell in a Cell. If Shane McMahon wins he gains control over Monday Night Raw but if he loses he will be gone forever. This writer thinks that Shane McMahon should win and this article will discuss the best way to accomplish that while giving a compelling storyline direction for the WWE post WrestleMania.

Shane McMahon is not an in-ring technician, meaning The Undertaker is going to have to play ring general during this match while allowing Shane to hit his traditional big spots. Vince and Stephanie McMahon need to be ringside the whole time so they can glare on smiling as The Undertaker dominates the whole match with a few small comeback attempts by Shane.

Just as everyone thinks there’s no way Shane is going to win the match out comes Finn Balor decked out in his demon paint/gear. He should slowly crawl out shocking the world and and distracting The Undertaker. While he is distracted out from under the ring come Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, Finn Balor’s cohorts in the Balor Club, to take out The Undertaker while Shane McMahon stares down his dad and sister smiling.

Shane McMahon should get the win with the help of the newly debuting Balor Club. This would be a great way to debut the Balor Club. Not only would this debut the demon in Finn Balor opposite The Undertaker but it would show the Balor Club is here to dominate WWE which is exactly the spot they should hold. Finn Balor is a top tier talent and should debut as such.

This should be the last match of the night because we will have already seen HHH lose his title and now we’ll close the show seeing him lose his position as an onscreen authority figure with a win by Shane McMahon.

The next night on Raw Shane McMahon comes out talking about how he played everyone and used the Balor Club to take over his dads company. This would allow The Authority, which has been heel for years now, to turn babyface. This would also shake up WWE by debuting the most dominant faction since The Shield and giving us a new heel in charge in Shane McMahon.

What they don’t need to do is have him talk about or act like he’s The Authority. We’ve already seen that for the last few years they should go in a different direction with this new heel faction. He can still give guys chances and do all the things he said he would leading up to the match at WrestleMania that way he doesn’t seem a lot like The Authority. He’ll reveal he made a deal with The Balor Club because he wanted to oust Stephanie, Vince, and HHH and in returns he’ll give them extra special treatment.

What do you guys think ? Should the Balor Club align themselves with Shane McMahon to debut with a vengeance or should they debut after WrestleMania as faces ?
