Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show. On today’s episode he has Bull James join him, formerly known as Bull Dempsey in NXT. They are going to talk about the career of Bull so far. Let’s get to the action.

He’s recently been wrestling War King Hanson on the independent scene. Hanson has been killing it recently in ROH.

He said he has more freedom to take the match where he wants to take it now on the. independent scene.

He started wrestling in 2005 at the age of 17. He started in East Coast Professional Wrestling.

He was trained by a lot of different journey men pro wrestlers. They taught him to show up and shake hands.

He spent 18 months working with Taz. He learned a lot about finding that mean streak and intensity from him. He also learned how to flip the switch.

He credits Matt Borne, aka Doink the Clown, for helping him grow a lot as a wrestler. Matt used to have him watch a lot of tape of Terry Funk and Bruiser Brody.

He got an NXT tryout thanks to Bill DeMott. Dusty Rhodes was a big mentor of his in NXT.

He said at the performance people you could be there from 8am to 8pm some days. The drop out rate is pretty high at the performance center.

There is a lot of speculation on why he got let go from NXT. Some people say when Kevin Owens came in they looked and worked to much alike, and other say he was doomed after he put over Baron Corbin.

The Steve Austin Show Unleashed Q + A 10-06-16

Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show Unleashed. There is no guest for today’s show, he decided to answer your questions by himself. Let’s get to the action.

Austin and his wife recently made a trip to visit her brother in Nevada. They left to return home at 4am. They left early to avoid rush hour traffic, but they hit it anyways. Siri was giving him bad directions, and that made him very unhappy. He did finally make it home.

Austin was asked how he could handle getting in the ring with other guys considering his germaphobia. He wanted to be a wrestler, so you do what you have to do. He said these days he would take issue with some of those things.

He was asked why he named his ranch the broken skull ranch instead of the smoking skull ranch. He said he actually thought about it, but he thought broken skull ranch sounded cooler, and it was something he created, not the WWE.

He was asked about a cd he helped created called stone cold metal. He helped pick all the songs on the cd, and they were songs he loved. The cd almost sold 500,000 copies.

He thinks Terry Taylor picked up the Ric Flair style the best. The brawling style he used was his own creation.

He was asked if he was ever in a match with someone who blew a spot and it threw him off his game. He said you just gotta try and cover it up and move on. The Owen Hart piledriver was the only one that really messed him up, because it physically messed him up.

He said he’s been trying to get Arn Anderson on his show for over a year now, but he’s really busy.

He was asked if the incident with Owen hadn’t had happened would it have altered his career. He wishes it would’ve never happened, but you can’t predict what could’ve happened.

He was asked how you prepare yourself for a chair shot or a hardcore match. He always put his hands up on a chair shot. You just gotta be ready, because it’s gonna hurt. He said there is an art to throwing a char, you gotta kinda pull off at the end instead of following through. There’s really no way to prepare yourself, you just gotta do it.

When Jim Johnston wrote Stone Cold’s glass breaking music, Bulls on Parade by Rage Against The Machine was the inspiration. He said it was cool too when the guys from Disturbed did his music.

He was asked why sometimes they’ll play someone’s theme music when they run out to help a friend during a beatdown. He said he understood the point, but it is a television show. The music is a way to get an easy cheap pop.

He was asked about the recipe for the margarita mix him and Ted Fowler use. It’s Jose Cuervo Margarita Mix.

He was asked if the curtain call would’ve never happened, what were the plans for him. He said there were no plans for him. He’s glad it happened, because it made his career.

He loves a ton of blues songs. Stevie Ray is one of his favorites.

He was asked what his favorite podcast has been. He doesn’t really listen to his podcast, but he loves listening to the Steve Austin vs. Mr Fly bit.

He was asked about his 2001 run. He said he doesn’t remember much of his career, and doesn’t remember much about his 2001 run.

He was asked about the new Ford Bronco. He’s worried they’ll make it to small.

He was asked what selling on the run means. It’s when you are backpedaling while selling, or at least moving while selling.

He was asked for advice on buying an RV. He said a bumper pull works well.

He was asked when he realizes that he’s having, or had, a great match. He said you know it during the match, and sometimes during the build to the match, but you don’t really think about it until you get to the back. He said you also know when you’re stinking up the joint.

He hasn’t done much bow hunting, but he does still enjoy using it to shoot targets.

His favorite college football team is Alabama. He does love Ohio State as well, and really likes Urban Meyer. He’s been following Michigan since Jim Harbaugh got there.

He said Brian Pillman never told anyone he was transitioning to the loose cannon character.

He was asked how he was able to sleep after shoulder surgery. He said your first week out you won’t sleep at all. He had to sleep kinda sitting up by putting a couple pillows on your back.

He said he can’t bring himself to vote for Hillary Clinton.

His favorite high school football memory is when his head coach put on a helmet and told Austin to hit him. He plowed over his coach.

He said he’s only heard of one time where someone bled during a match and it was a medical emergency. This happened in ECW.

He was asked if he would sell his Intercontinental Championship belt. He will never sell that belt.

Austin said the second fall from the cell during the Hell in a Cell match between Mankind and Undertaker wasn’t planned. He doesn’t know how they planned on getting down from the cage had that not have happened.

Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show. Today’s guest is Tim Kail from the Work of Wrestling podcast. These guys are going to talk about wrestling, wrestling, and more wrestling. Let’s get to the action.

Austin recently made a trip with his wife to Nevada, which is about a 8 to 9 hour drive. He said he likes to leave really early so he has the bulk of his trip done by noon. They didn’t get to leave until around noon, and Austin wasn’t happy. He will be heading back home soon.

Tim’s favorite match of all time is the Bret Hart vs Steve Austin match at WrestleMania. He’s a very passionate pro wrestling fan. He’s originally from Pennsylvania, but he currently lives in New York.

He became a pro wrestling fan after watching Rocky 3 with Hulk Hogan. He really got into wrestling during the attitude era.

He doesn’t have a lot of knowledge of 80’s pro wrestling, but he recently has started watching some WCCW. He likes how they really presented it as a sport.

He really hopes WWE starts doing a better job of developing distinct characters that speak from honesty. He also wants to see shorter matches with less flipping.

Tim thinks wins and losses do matter. They can also not matter if there is no follow up to either. They reference the Bret Hart, Steve Austin match from WrestleMania years ago. Austin lost, but the way he lost helped propel him to a monster run.

Austin likes how NXT is presented. It reminds him of days gone by.

Tim thinks having an authority heel figure is already played out. He thinks that Austin and Vince McMahon did it better than anyone ever could.

Tim really likes the Braun Strowman and Nia Jax squash matches. He really wants to see the sit down interviews they put on wwe.com on Raw or Smackdown.

The Steve Austin Show with Nita Strauss, Alice Cooper Guitarist 9-20-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 – You can check this out every Tuesday/Thursday on Ringsidenews.com, along with other good wrestling articles/news. Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show. Today’s guest is Nita Strauss, the guitarist for Alice Cooper. Let’s get to the action.

She has been doing ballet and gymnastics since she was a small child. She competed in gymnastics at a very young age. Once she started playing guitar she stopped competing.

The Megadeth song Trust is what really got her into metal music. When she started playing guitar, she started with a Beatles songbook.

She taught herself how to play the guitar. The first time she took guitar lessons was when she got into The Alice Cooper Band. She was a shredder, and they told her she needed to learn some more classic rock stuff.

Steve Vai was one of her biggest influences on guitar. She really loved the virtuoso players.

She loves the story of Jason Becker, who was diagnosed with ALS but has lived longer than they said he would while still being able to compose music. She turned Austin on to his story.

She did not graduate from high school, but she did get her GED. She went to get her GED so she could go on tour and focus on music full time.

She learned early on in her career that she needs to sign a contract before touring. She toured with a band who told her they’d settle up the money at the end of the tour, and she ended up getting nothing.

Austin’s dad played in a country western band. He tried to learn to play instruments when he was younger, but he didn’t practice enough to be good.

She doesn’t drink anymore, but she used to love vodka.

She believes you don’t have to have expensive equipment to have good feeling. She believes in practicing so much that you can shut your brain off and feel the music while you’re playing. She plays from the heart.

She had been drinking and partying for around 15 years before she decided to stop. She cleaned up last year and decided to start working out again. Nikki Sixx and Alice Cooper helped her sober up.

When she first auditioned to be in the Alice Cooper Band, she played the songs in a way over the top manner, which was her style at the time. The guy who looked at the video told her she needed to simplify her style, which she did.

She has formed a new band and they are writing music. She is excited about playing with them. She wouldn’t give us the name of the band though.

The Steve Austin Show Unleashed with Alan Bishop 9-15-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 – You can check this out every Tuesday/Thursday on Ringsidenews.com, along with other good wrestling articles/news. Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show Unleashed. Alan Bishop, who has worked on Broken Skull Challenge amongst other tv shows, is our special guest today. Let’s get to the action.

Austin told a story about losing his keys the other day. He spent an hour looking for them, and then finally found them in a spot where he had already looked. He said he would’ve felt dumb having to call Uber to take him home.

Alan is the supervising challenge producer on the Broken Skull Challenge. He’s Canadian.

He likes simple challenges. He thinks sometimes it’s not better to make a challenge to complex.

He left home at the age of 15 and traveled the country for 3 years. He then joined the military. When he got out he went back to guiding in the wilderness.

He met a lot of CEO’s and heads of businesses while guiding. He started playing games with them while hiking since a lot of these guys weren’t used to being on their feet for long periods of time. These CEO’s started calling him because they liked these games for team building purposes. He loved team building. He then transitioned into reality television.

His parents divorced when he was ten. He bounced back and forth between households, but settled in with his dad because it was easier, there was no parenting. He did a lot of drugs, alcohol, and smoked a lot cigarettes at early ages. He has since cleaned himself up.

He went into the military because he felt like he needed structure. He just walked into a recruiting office one day and signed up for infantry. Boot camp was a whole other world for him because he wasn’t used to anyone telling him what to do.

Fitness is a way of life for him. He loves Crossfit training. He believes in risk taking to achieve. He is big on tracking your fitness goals. He loves to train on hills.

He thinks people who set up resolutions are setting themselves up for failure by not keeping things simple.

The Steve Austin Show with Missy Hyatt 9-13-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 – You can check this out every Tuesday/Thursday on Ringsidenews.com, along with other good wrestling articles/news. Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show. Missy Hyatt returns to the show today. She will be the one to ask Austin the questions this time around. Let’s get to the action.

Austin said he’s making a comeback from his shoulder surgery. He’s getting stronger, but it’s a slow and steady progress.

Austin is super busy filming the upcoming season of Broken Skull Challenge, he said it should be a good one.

World Class Championship Wrestling was the only live show he went to see as a fan when he was younger, mainly because he didn’t have much money. He watched some other organizations on tv, but their live shows were to far away for him.

He had no other plans when he got hired by WCW. He doesn’t know what he would have done if they wouldn’t have hired him in the early 90’s.

Danny Davis and Superstar Bill Dundee were two guys that he learned a lot from in his early days in Dallas.

Missy says one of her regrets in life was breaking up with John Tatum. She left him for Eddie Gilbert.

When they turned Austin heel against Chris Adams, that promotion tripled in viewership. It was a really hot angle at the time. That is the feud that really got him noticed.

He said he never had to deal much with Jim Herd, but he could tell he didn’t know much about the wrestling business.

He never wanted to be in a tag team with Brian Pillman, but he ended up liking it. He doesn’t know why they broke them up.

Tom Pritchard is the one who helped him realize that there’s more to a wrestler than being a mechanic, you needed to become a personality as well.

He loved working with Madusa, especially since he was a fan of hers from before he got into the business.

Austin thinks if he could go back he would tell his younger self to learn how to do a better promo earlier in his career.

Missy thinks the business has gotten a little fast for her. She wishes they’d slow down a little so the action registers in peoples head better.

The Steve Austin Show Unleashed with Missy Hyatt 9-8-16

By Byron Evans – @Bevans1985 – You can check this out every Tuesday/Thursday on Ringsidenews.com, along with other good wrestling articles/news. Follow me on twitter so you don’t miss any of my articles. I post podcast recaps and original content daily.

Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show Unleashed. Today’s guest is Missy Hyatt. She is the same age as Steve Austin, but she got into the business of professional wrestling much earlier than he did. They are going to talk about the old days of pro wrestling. Let’s get to the action.

Missy was a fan of The Freebirds when she was young. She fell in love with pro wrestling at a very young age. She started in the business at the age of 17.

Missy credits Sunshine with helping her get her start in the business. Sunshine was a babyface at the time, and Missy was the heel. Missy always thought it was easy to get heat as a heel.

She feels like her character was her turned up to an eleven. She considered herself a geek when she was in school, but she did consider herself a wild child. She said she was spoiled growing up.

She finally graduated college in 2001, even though she flirted with going to college as a young person. She got her degree in psychology.

She said she got paid really well, and treated very well, when she worked for Fritz Von Erich.

They talk a little bit about the sad story of the Von Erich family.

Austin was pretty shocked to hear how much money Missy was making during her early years wrestling. Austin didn’t make much money at all until he became a known commodity.

Missy talked about how tough a woman Dark Journey was. She said she used to cry a lot after matches with Dark, but she was told never to let anyone see it. She said Dark Journey used to mess up the match a lot. Missy thinks Dark was shooting on her.

She respected Eddie Gilbert a lot as a pro wrestling mind.

She spent 5 years in WCW. She said she would have stayed longer, but things happen. A misunderstanding is why she didn’t get her contract renewed. She was very sad, but she is happy to have had the opportunity to move to NYC. She moved to NYC shortly after leaving WCW.

She had a short stint in WWE in 1988, but it didn’t work out very well. She feels like they never let her be her. She claims to have been heavily scripted.

She also had a short stint in ECW in 1996. Paul Heyman had gotten a big break earlier in his career by Missy and Eddie.

This concludes today’s episode of The Steve Austin Show Unleashed. This was a great look at the career of Missy Hyatt, and is well worth a listen. Thanks guys for reading.
