Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show. Missy Hyatt returns to the show today. She will be the one to ask Austin the questions this time around. Let’s get to the action.
Austin said he’s making a comeback from his shoulder surgery. He’s getting stronger, but it’s a slow and steady progress.
Austin is super busy filming the upcoming season of Broken Skull Challenge, he said it should be a good one.
World Class Championship Wrestling was the only live show he went to see as a fan when he was younger, mainly because he didn’t have much money. He watched some other organizations on tv, but their live shows were to far away for him.
He had no other plans when he got hired by WCW. He doesn’t know what he would have done if they wouldn’t have hired him in the early 90’s.
Danny Davis and Superstar Bill Dundee were two guys that he learned a lot from in his early days in Dallas.
Missy says one of her regrets in life was breaking up with John Tatum. She left him for Eddie Gilbert.
When they turned Austin heel against Chris Adams, that promotion tripled in viewership. It was a really hot angle at the time. That is the feud that really got him noticed.
He said he never had to deal much with Jim Herd, but he could tell he didn’t know much about the wrestling business.
He never wanted to be in a tag team with Brian Pillman, but he ended up liking it. He doesn’t know why they broke them up.
Tom Pritchard is the one who helped him realize that there’s more to a wrestler than being a mechanic, you needed to become a personality as well.
He loved working with Madusa, especially since he was a fan of hers from before he got into the business.
Austin thinks if he could go back he would tell his younger self to learn how to do a better promo earlier in his career.
Missy thinks the business has gotten a little fast for her. She wishes they’d slow down a little so the action registers in peoples head better.
