Welcome everyone to another episode of The Steve Austin Show. Today we have Vince Russo returning for another episode. They will talk about the current state of pro wrestling. Let’s get to the show.

Austin recently got a new 2003 Ford Focus. He was in the middle of telling the story when he realized he was cussing way to much for the family friendly show, so he had to re-record the story.

His wife’s mother bought this car brand new. It was the only brand new car she had ever bought. She had taken very good care of the car. He was very proud that she had jumper cables in her car.

He takes the car to a mechanic to get a check-up, and to get it cleaned up, and the mechanic told him something is running funny with the engine. Just as soon as he left the lot, the engine starts to run bad, and the check engine light came on.

He takes the car to the Ford dealership. The car wouldn’t even start at one point while it was at the dealership. Turns out there were a lot of things wrong with the car. He thought he had a great deal with this car, but it didn’t turn out as well as he thought.

Russo doesn’t think today’s WWE writers understand wrestling. He doesn’t think they’re doing a good job getting talent over. Austin said it should be Vince McMahon’s job, as the head of the ship, to make sure things are being run right.

Russo claims that Vince McMahon replaced him with Stephanie McMahon. Russo said that was the worst decision ever. He thinks that because it’s his daughter, he’ll never be able to have the relationship necessary to bring the best out of each other business wise.

Russo thinks they need to simplify the wrestling process, and go back to the way they used to do things. He thinks they have to many writers. Things would be accomplished much more quickly and efficiently with fewer writers.

Russo doesn’t think Vince McMahon trusts anyone. He thinks that’s why Vince scripts everything, and puts everyone in a box.

Both these guys think the pro wrestling game has changed a lot over the last 20 years. Russo thinks they need to go back to the basic foundational pillars of pro wrestling.

Austin thinks it’s okay to have a couple comedy segments during a show, but there doesn’t need to be a lot of them.

They both agree that, as an entertainer, you have to always be willing to gamble and push the envelope. They don’t think the WWE is doing that today. They think the product has been the same for to long.

Russo thinks talent shouldn’t be afraid to speak their minds out of fear of losing their job. He feels like if you don’t agree with creative direction you’ll eventually leave out of frustration anyways, so why not take a chance and speak your mind.

They both think the crowd dictates the performers nowadays, instead of the performers dictating the crowd. They think it would be easy to take the control back from the crowd.

Russo said his wife has the mindset that since he works from home he’s not really working. Austin said his wife isn’t like that.
